My experience using NIOXIN

Hello Everyone Happy New Year.

Sincerely hope you all are having better luck sticking to your New Years Resolutions than I am.
One of my resolutions is to take better care of my skin and hair. So far so good. The real trouble I am having with my hair is how thin and damaged it is. So, over the Christmas I got Nioxin Hair system kit (6) which contains a cleanser shampoo, scalp revitalising conditioner and scalp treatment mouse.I  never heard of this brand before then.

These products are specially designed to combat thin hair in both men and women. They have different strength to suit your hair type/condition.Starting from one to six. I got number 6 this is suited for chemically treated hair ( I ain't a natural blonde) with progressed thinning.  It is also meant to provide moisture balance and colour protection (that last one is very important to me as I'm a picky about my shade of blonde).
I started using it on the 1st of January and was determined to see it through. I was really excited about using this after hearing lots of feedback and reviews from other bloggers. I decided since I was giving this a go to give my hair the full TLC it needed I eased up on using heat styling tools and extensions on my hair.
Within the first few times of using the products the main thing I noticed was how dry my hair was becoming. I already had dry hair but it was getting worse. I figured this was all part of the process of balancing my moisture levels. It kept getting worse, so bad in fact my hair was becoming stiff. However I continued using as I wanted to see the end results. Two weeks and no changes my mood really started dropping  not only was my hair so dry it felt like straw but my colour was being destroyed so much so I couldn't even disguise it with my hair extensions as the colours totally mismatched. I went on using it for the last week and finally finished using it. One thing that was happening throughout this entire process was the skin on my hands were peeling horribly. I had a feeling it was due to the Nioxin but was only completely sure after 3 days of finishing the treatments had my hands started to recover.

I finally decided to give in and go to salon for my hair to look somewhat normal again. I was telling them about my experience with Nioxin and it didn't surprise them in the slightest. They knew about the reaction (skin peeling) as many people were experiencing their own kind. They also commented on saying how it is really not a blondes best friend as it ruins our colour. I was relived in knowing I wasn't the only one having this bad experience as all I heard before hand was 5* reviews.

At the end of the day this product was meant to help my thinning hair. My hair did get slightly thicker but all in all I feel and think like it did more damage than good. This is just my experience with Nioxin and my thoughts on the product. I hope if you have or do try it that it works out better for you.
I'm still on the search for the perfect hair thickening remedy.

Until Next Time
