My Hair Heroes
"Bad Hair Day" is commonly used to describe those days when your hair just looks crap no matter what you do. But what about those of us who have Bad Hair Years. I have always been someone who has struggled with my hair. It’s a running joke in the family that I looked like a boy until I was about 6 years old! I have fine limp hair that no amount of product (to date) has made any difference to.
I have tried almost every hair product on the market and trawled from salon to salon trying to find the perfect stylist/colourist. What I did end up with was over processed damaged locks and even less hair.
I thought I was doomed to a life of bad hair but the beauty gods decided to smile upon me and introduced me to Gold Fever Hair Extensions.
Every girl dreams of having a shiny full head of healthy hair but if like me you are not born with it then a little help is needed.
I had tried so many highstreet brands and failed with them all. I had to have them cut out, they either melted, tangled or worse.
I tried clip in extensions next and they worked ok until I went out one night and found them in the middle of the dance floor, yes that’s right I danced my hair off. MORTIFIED!!!
Just when I was about to resign to a life of Bad Hair, I found the Gold Fever Hair Extensions. They are applied using protein bonds to individual strands of hair; this protects your own natural hair from being damaged. The quality of the hair used is so beautiful and luxurious. No “stringy ratty” ends! I 100% recommend this product. I’ve had them in for a few months now and I’m so pleased with the quality and result. There is hardly any maintance on them, they look great straight or curled. I use the GHD, Insyler to name a few on them and the result is amazing.
So I got the beautiful long thick hair but now to tackle the colour problem! Us Irish tend to have natural warmth in our hair which can result in brassiness when colour is applied. To have your hair toned in the salon is an ideal remedy to combat the brassy yellow tones but if like me you can’t afford to keep going to the salon for toner top ups a DIY is the next best thing. So began my search for store-bought remedies. I bought expensive ones; Kevin Murphy, John Frieda etc but by far the best result came from Pro-voke Touch of Silver brightening shampoo.
This product is amazing, it is a shampoo and toner in one - link below:
Here is how I apply it for maximum result:
Divide hair into sections and evenly cover DRY hair with the shampoo. Leave for 15-20 minutes then rinse. Hello to fabulous toned hair. I love the ashy silver/grey look and this is ideal to maintain this. All for the great price of €4.99 (boots.ie price).
